Starting March 26, 2012, SilkAir will fly four times a week between Singapore and Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territory in Australia. Darwin is the 39th destination for the airline, which flies to a dozen countries and is the full-service regional subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, configured for business and economy class seating, will be used on the route. Passengers flying in from Singapore will also be able to use flights from Darwin to Sydney operated by partner Virgin Australia, which will open a new lounge at Darwin airport.

SilkAir also launched a new route to Changsa, China, at the end of October 2011.
