Singapore Airlines has just switched to the super-jumbo A380 aircraft for its daily Singapore-Frankfurt-New York route, which previously was served by a B747-400. One section of the plane features private suites with full-sized beds, a sliding door, and a 23-inch monitor on the wall.
Singapore Airlines says its A380 fleet has proven popular with customers.
Singapore’s Changi Airport, meanwhile, is the world’s busiest multicarrier hub for the A380. Back in 2007 it became the first to handle the superjumbo when Singapore Airlines commenced A380 operations with an inaugural flight to Sydney.
