American Airlines announced that it will begin nonstop flights to Shanghai and Hong Kong from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in June 2014. Pending regulatory approval, American Airlines plans to fly to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport five times a week with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. It plans to fly daily to Hong Kong International Airport with a Boeing 777-300ER. American Airlines said these will be first flights to China and Hong Kong from Dallas and will be operated as part of a joint-agreement with fellow OneWorld alliance member, Japan Airways.
