Anish Kapoor is holding his first major solo show in East Asia at South Korea’s Leeum museum. The exhibition will feature work spanning the Indian-born sculptor’s 30-year career—from his Void series of large monochromatic sculptures, to his early work in various pigments.
It will be the first time the museum has allocated the entire exhibition space—including the outdoor sculpture garden—to one artist. Anish Kapoor begun producing his immediately recognizable work in the late 70s before cementing his reputation in 1991 by winning the Turner Prize. Since then he has held permanent exhibitions in London’s Tate Modern, New York’s Rockefeller Center, and the Grand Palais in Paris. Most recently, he was commissioned to design Orbit, a piece to commemorate the London Olympics.
