Marking the entrance of Hyatt Hotels in Cambodia, the Park Hyatt Siem Reap opened its doors this month after an extensive renovation of the original property. The 14-month renovation of Hôtel de la Paix by prolific designer Bill Bensley followed the announcement that it would be rebranded as a Park Hyatt property. Siem Reap hosts more than 2 million foreign tourists annually, but remains largely undeveloped in the luxury hotel market.
“We are delighted to be opening the first Hyatt hotel in Cambodia and the first Park Hyatt in the Southeast Asia region, signifying our ongoing commitment to expansion in sought-after destinations where we know our guests are traveling,” said Larry Tchou, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
The newly renovated Park Hyatt Siem Reap now has 108 guest rooms and suites, with a remodeled spa, fitness center, lap pool, and Italian marble bathrooms with rain shower in each room. Of the hotel’s 13 suites, four showcase private plunge pools, creating a more intimate experience for guests.
In-house cuisine at The Dining Room features an original mix of traditional Khmer and French cuisine. Produce is sourced locally for traditional Cambodian dishes at Siem Reap markets. And following a day of trekking the city’s many temples, The Living Room lounge is a place to escape for high tea service or sunset cocktail in the evening.
