At the renovated Boathouse resort in Phuket, the Boathouse Wine & Grill will host a wine-pairing dinner featuring Emily Putnam from the Francis Ford Coppola Winery as guest speaker. Courses from Boathouse executive chef Jean-Noël Lumineau — such as pan-fried red mullet fillet with anchovie butter and eggplant caviar — will be matched over multiple courses with “director’s cut” labels from the film director’s vineyard presented by Putnam. The price for the dinner, to be held on May 25, is about US$65. Cocktails start at 7 p.m., dinner about an hour later. The restaurant overlooks Kata Beach and the Andaman Sea.
The Phuket resort also features a beach club called Re Ká Ta designed by the same architect who did Ku De Ta in Bali (Freddo Taffin), with a chic bar that opens to a palm-fringed pool terrace.
