Singapore aims to be the superyacht hub of Asia, and Friday marks the beginning of the second annual Singapore Yacht Show, which will run through the weekend. Impressive vessels from around the world have gathered at the ONE°15 Marina on Sentosa Island’s Sentosa Cove.
There will be plenty of toys to gawk at. Yachting brands like Feadship, Westport, Heesen, Azimut, and Princess will be represented, as will yacht brokers like Burgess, Ocean Independence, and Simpson Marine.
Feadship will feature its new 45-meter Helix. San Lorenzo will show its 38-meter Onyx. Tartan Yachts will debut the Tartan 4000. The distinctive J Craft Boats, with a “Year of the Dragon” version for the Asian market, will make its regional debut. A yacht formerly owned by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus will be on display and is now available for charter.
Also on the scene will be a parade of premium automobiles from the likes of Lamborghini and BMW.
The event caters to industry professionals and the region’s ultra-wealthy, but anyone with a serious interest in chartering or buying a yacht — or a real desire to better understand the yachting lifestyle — is welcome to attend.
