The Mulia, Bali (Jl. Raya Nusa Dua Selatan; 62-361/302-7777), just got even more luxurious. The 30-hectare resort in Nusa Dua that already includes multi-tiered swimming pools, an enormous spa, and the area’s only night club is opening a new restaurant, Table8, on June 8. Serving gourmet Cantonese and Szechuan delicacies, the warmly colored, softly lit restaurant has only 100 seats in addition to a private dining room decorated with the artwork of China’s Empress Dowager Cixi, who controlled the country’s dynasty for 47 years in the late 19th century. The menu reads authentic: whole abalone braised with wild mushroom, roasted suckling pig, an array of dim sum, a buffet for those who like to sample. This cuisine is a new addition to the realm of the Mulia’s other restaurants—among the many, there’s The Café, where international food is cooked made-to-order at different stations; Soleil, serving Mediterranean and Pan-Asian cuisine ocean-side; and Edogin, a Japanese restaurant with live teppanyaki.
