Riotously celebrated in Macau, this year’s Feast of the Drunken Dragon is set to take place on April 28. The annual Chinese tradition — which has made it onto UNESCO’s intangible heritage list — commemorates the legend of a village’s miraculous recovery from the plague after a Buddhist monk slew a sea dragon. The day’s festivities include local fishermen dancing with wooden dragons in a procession that takes them from the Kuan Tai Temple near Senado Square to Macau’s Inner Harbour … with several stops along the way to guzzle wine.
