It used to be that we were cut off from the outside world when flying. Today, though, more airlines are offering (or planning to offer) inflight connectivity, allowing us to check our inboxes, chat on Skype, or reserve hotel rooms. According to a new study by IMS Research, by 2021 there will be nearly 9,000 aircraft offering wireless in-flight entertainment.
Some see being disconnected inflight as an inconvenience. Others see it as a welcome respite from our “always-on” modern world. What’s your take on the matter?
