If you’d rather not share a resort with strangers, two Maldivian properties have pulled out all the stops for that ultimate island getaway. The just-opened Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, in the Baa Atoll, is the first such experience offered by the brand. Equipped for groups of up to 22 guests, the seven-bedroom property comes with plenty of frills, not least a dive center and a spa. Of course, the real action revolves around Voavah’s two-story Beach House: there’s an open-air living room, loft lounge, gym, and library, while its dining room and kitchen ensure that guests are always well-fed. Explorations of the surrounding waters are also a cinch, thanks to the inclusion of a 19-meter yacht.
Meanwhile, 150 kilometers away in the North Ari Atoll, W Maldives has launched the Extreme Island Takeover package, which gives you the keys to all 78 of its pool villas, with free-flow food and house beverages at the resort’s six dining and entertainment venues, including the underground nightclub 15Below. Endless watersports and unlimited treatments at Away Spa are also part of the package. The catch? A minimum four-night stay will set your party back a whopping US$4,000,000.
